Installation
Knauf Coreboards do not require screw attachment to metal frame. They are friction fit into two adjacent Knauf CT Shaftwall Studs forming the shaftwall frame. Installation of the Knauf Coreboard should commence at one end and work across the shaftwall. Cut the first Knauf Coreboard to fit into the Knauf ‘J’ Channel frame. Pull out tabs in the flange of the ‘J’ Channel at right angles to retain the coreboard. You may require a length of timber to
gently tap the stud into place, as it is designed to be tight fit. The next Knauf Coreboard is fitted into the ‘CT’ Stud and the process is repeated until one of the shaftwall is complete. For airtight shafts, apply Knauf sealant to the Knauf Coreboard edges prior to installation. For horizontal joints in the Knauf Coreboard install Knauf CT Stud to the top edge of the Knauf Coreboard. Next board should slide in for a perfect fit. For more details please consult shaftwall installation guide.
Cutting
Score Knauf Coreboard with knife and break along the edge, slice rear side paper. Rework and bevel edges with rasp planer.
